“Working Through It” Debuted September 5, 2024 at the Brooklyn Museum during NYFW, sponsored by Converse and hosted by DapperQ. Collaborations include shoes by Converse, bags by Kent Stetson Handbags, knitwear by Blue Sheen, hair accessories by Colette Bernard, and embroidery by my mother, Cathy Grinfeld.
This body of work investigates storytelling, overthinking, and the act of documenting difficult emotions through the exploration of thoughts, letters, words, and office supplies in the form of wearable art.
My inspiration for this collection began with the internal struggle of putting who I am and how I’m feeling into words. It feels like I’ve spent years trying to express my thoughts and feelings visually, but I’m still learning how to write my story in a way that makes others understand me and my vision in the way that I want them to. The title “Working Through It” encapsulates that with this body of work, the journey is the destination. This project is a coping mechanism for overthinking, an exercise in vulnerability, and an ever evolving means for me to express who I am.
