“A dream ballet is an extended dance sequence within a musical, ballet, or other performance that takes place within a character’s subconscious or mind, often serving to explore their internal conflicts, fears, or desires visually rather than through dialogue or song. This device uses ballet technique to communicate a character’s unspoken emotional state, moving the narrative forward or providing insight into the character’s inner life.”
This collection felt like a time warp, an interlude, a dreamscape. I tried to let go of the rigid methods with which I’ve approached concepts in the past and just let the work flow out organically.
